WITH YOUR ENTERPRISE
DEVELOPMENT SPEND.

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Reproplast EPR Trust is to develop recycling capacity and grow the recycling community through supporting individuals involved in the collection and aggregation of rigid polyolefin waste.

The Trust creates a unique platform for an inclusive approach to Enterprise Development, where all stakeholders can participate by contributing their allocated Enterprise Development spend.

A CIRCULAR ECONOMY ENABLES SUSTAINABILITY.

The informal waste sector in South Africa plays a vital role in diverting waste from landfills and, properly structured, can create thousands of job opportunities for South Africans. This informal waste sector not only curates our environment, but also constitutes the basis of a circular economy and a platform for people to create stable and meaningful income for themselves and their families.

Our producers purchase rigid polyolefin waste from collectors, including our partner, the African Reclaimers Organisation (ARO). Through our relationships and daily interactions with collectors, we are well positioned to identify and support unemployed individuals by providing infrastructure and funds to equip them as collectors of plastic waste.

GIVING RESOURCES TO THE PEOPLE WHO NEED IT MOST.

By you directing your Enterprise Development spend to the Trust, we will (together) be able to create meaningful change and impact people’s lives while simultaneously extending your environmental responsibilities.

With the appropriate funding, individual waste pickers can expand their businesses to collect even more waste and therefore contribute to enhancing the circular economy. This creates a positive cycle of economic, social and environmental upliftment through Enterprise Development.
